Bouquet

A bouquet is a collection of flowers which are arranged in a creative or artistic manner. A bouquet is a popular gift and is given along with greeting cards on special occasions such as anniversaries and birthdays. Bouquets are also given as an apology or in sympathy.

A wedding bouquet is considered to be a symbol of happiness and for many brides the bouquet is one of the most important things to decide on as it will appear in all of the wedding photographs. The style and colour of her bouquet must tie in with the rest of her colour scheme and theme and must compliment her wedding dress.

A popular tradition involves the wedding bouquet. All of the unmarried female guests gather in a line or group and the bride faces away from them before tossing the bouquet behind her. According to tradition, whoever catches the bouquet will be the next to marry.

Recently an Italian couple made the news when they attempted an extravagant way of following this old tradition. They hired a plane to fly over the wedding reception and throw a bouquet at a line of female wedding guests. However, things didn’t go to plan. As the bouquet was thrown from the plane it was sucked into the engine which then caught fire and exploded! The plane crashed and although the pilot was unhurt, the passenger who had thrown the bouquet was injured.
